Medical Assistant Course

With this course students will obtain a national Medical Assistant certification.

Medical Assistants are cross trained for the Front/Back Office to perform clinical and administrative duties. Training takes place in the classroom of an actual doctor's office. Students will have access to the exam rooms, lab, front office to get trained with front desk tasks/duties, and the back office to get trained with back office duties and procedures which goes beyond mere theory to give the students the hands-on training they need to become familiar with working in a medical office setting or hospital.

Students who participate in the Medical Assistant Training Program at

Expert Medical Training Academy, LLC will:

 

  • ​Understand basic human anatomy and medical terminology

  • Comply with HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, and other healthcare regulations, laws, and ethics.

  • Understand the laboratory including specimen collection techniques, medication administration, and cardiopulmonary testing (EKG).

  • Be able to administer medications and assist with minor procedures

  • Prepare patient rooms and patients for examinations

  • Record vital signs and take medical histories

  • Utilize Electronic Health Records and related Practice Management

  • Understand the importance of infection control and environmental safety

  • Handle laboratory specimen

  • Accurately provide patients with education they need

  • Perform Front/Back Office Administrative tasks/Duties/Procedures (Insurance verifications, Appointment Scheduling, Triage, Venipunctures, Injection, etc)

Students will be able to apply training to a wide variety of healthcare settings, including public and private clinics, physicians' offices, inpatient and outpatient facilities, and etc.

Upon completion of the course, we will assist with resume building, and interview prep.

Ext

Externship- Gain extra experience by attending externship immediately after completing the course. Students will be able to work with real patients of the office, collect vital signs, schedule appointments, venipunctures, EKG's, assist with medical procedures and wherever needed. You'll have the support needed to prepare you for your role as a medical assistant.
